I’m not exactly sure why I have been so obsessed with the celosia that are blooming in my front garden. I used them as an example of why you should mulch earlier this year. Now they are fully blooming, and I just love their velvet texture and psychedelic colors.
wow – is this their natural color, unenhanced? How spectacular they must look in the garden!
All I did was enlarge this photo. They are very spectacular. The twisted and wavy “flower heads” just get more and more convoluted and intricate as the plant matures. These are not the actual flowers of the plant, they are located underneath all this velvety magenta display, inconspicuos and small.
They look like Vegas showgirl feather boas.
WoW!! They are beautiful, I can see why you are enjoying them so!! So soft & fuzzy looking, I love plants with great texture!! And that is a gorgeous shade of pink ~ they must be show stoppers!
