First, a picture I took of Mike in the herb garden this afternoon.
He’s really none too pleased with us. Not only did we trespass upon his personage and force him to eat, but we poked him full of needles to give him subcutaneous fluids. And then we took him to vet and restrained him.
And then, to top it off, we went and packed our bags.
Mike HATES it when we pack, he knows what it means. Makes no difference that we have a very nice house sitter who will be very good to him, and a friend who is going to stop by every day to make sure Mike is doing well. He doesn’t approve of us leaving for any reason.
We are going to be gone for four weeks. First we fly to Ft. Lauderdale, then we take a lovely ship across the Atlantic to Lisbon, stopping only at the island of Madeira. Then we are travelling to Seville for a week, back to Lisbon for four days and thence home. Our flight home from Lisbon goes through Geneva. I have no idea why.
I am probably not going to have a chance to post while we are gone, and I will be missing keeping up with you all. But not too much. After all, there will be sights to see and gourmet food to eat.
See you in April! Stay well, and don’t forget to stretch!

Have a fabulous holiday. Looking forward to tales upon your return.
I second that – give my regards to az
Have a safe journey and a good holiday.
Pet Mike from me. He looks a a real sour puss in the picture. I guess he could join Ishta in the Cantankerous Cats’ Corner
There is a Disgruntled Dogs’ Den at the same place, if needed.
Have a wonderful time! I know you will have fascinating tales to tell. I’m sure Mike will be quite well when you return.
Sour puss ain’t the half of it! Disgruntled, disillusioned, discommoded, disheveled . .
Thanks for the wellwishes.
And so we turn the computer off.
Between Lisbon and Geneva, you’ll be flying right over my garden. It will be easy to spot: it’s green, with a fluffy orange spot in the middle, sunbathing.
Enjoy your vacation.
I’ll look forward to reading all about it when you get back.
Enjoy!

sounds like a wonderful ttrip – had to stop through and catch up a bit, and let you know that your wondeful garden and pond are such an inspiration. I’m going to work aroun dmy pond this year and a friend, who has read your blog coming from mine, told me the other day that your pond was so wonderful she’s asking for a pond in her yard for Mother’s day. Be safe!
I hope you’re enjoying your holiday and that Mike has continued to be well. He looks like such a Wee Fluffy Fred in that photo. Eeh, all those years I lived in Europe and I have never been to the places you are visiting. I bet you’ll have some great photos when you get back.
