As I mentioned yesterday, I have been inspired to do some more creative things every day, things that do not involved moving rocks and weeding right now. I was stymied by my computer the other day when I wanted to download an image and I was not able to figure out how to do so. Rather than banging my head on the keyboard or throwing the computer out the window, I decided that I would create my own thing rather than color the image presented.
This is what I came up with.
Now, it isn’t Great Art by any stretch of the imagination, but it did stretch my imagination and allow my right brain to play a bit.
Then, I checked my comments and incoming links and discovered that I happened to stop by Aphra Behn’s blog just in time to force her to include me in a meme she was participating in. I will probably keep the thing going, just not today. Considering that the majority of people that got mentioned in the meme on comment participation were not bloggers, this is a branch of the meme that could easily die.
Just a few hours later, I found that Mandarine has offered me this award:
I really liked his opening when he started his post: ”Compliments are a good investment.” Part of the deal with this award is that you have to give it to seven other blogs. I’m all for rewarding people, so I shall immediately send the award on. If you have already received it from another person, so much the better. It means you have touched people.
I will just add here that I give this blog award, and just because I haven’t been there recently doesn’t mean I don’t really love your blog.
First of all, I’d like to give it right back to Mandarine. I’m not sure if that is allowed by the rules, but both his blogs are interesting. The fact that I have to use Babelfish to read his second blog (about being an organic market farmer) does not negate the fact that it is well written and informative and thoughtful. I may have to learn to read French.
The second person I want to give this award to is Sue O’Keiffe. Her Mandala blog is wonderful. She is another person who seems to have a lot more time than I do, and has another blog devoted to her considerably amazing doodles. I never created any doodle as detailed and beautiful as regularly show up on her blog.
Another artist whose blog I love and which I feel compelled to visit is Tammy Vitale’s blog. Not only are there beautiful images, there are words of wisdom and inspiration there.
Inspiration of a different sort can be found at casa az, where my friend azahar is chronicling her battle with colon cancer. It is a story of grace and courage under pressure, so don’t expect a lot about sickness and depression. She is funny, she posts fun quizzes, she has an amazing section devoted to the food, especially tapas, you can find in Seville, where she lives. Go there at your own risk, I guarantee you will leave that section of her blog drooling and needing some sort of tasty snack.
Another blog I regularly visit is located in the Netherlands, at Yolanda Elizabet’s garden of Bliss. In addition to having an extremely beautiful garden, she goes on visits to other gardens nearby and gives reports. She regularly posts pictures of her beautiful cats, and has a very cute new puppy.
This list would not be complete without Helen and her amazing child Kiko. Another mother who’s blog I enjoy visiting on a regular visit is Henitsirk. I love both their blogs.
Since I’m not sure that I can count Mandarine, I am going to list one more blog that I truly adore. That would be Margaret and Helen. This is a blog written by an 80 year old pistol who tells it like it is and doesn’t mince words. I aspire to be like them when I am 80. (And like my mother, too, of course.) I love them and I love their blog.
Now, get out there and love one another!
