The photohunt today is “Triangle”. I had to search long and hard for a suitable image to post, but I did find a fine set of triangles in the frost flower that formed on my pond last winter.

delicately pretty…
lovely take!
BeautifulTriangles!
Never seen anything like that! It is spectacular!
Capillary action creates these sorts of structures. You have to have perfect conditions – cold air to freeze the water along with ground water that is not frozen and a medium to act as the capillary (in this case, the stem of a water grass). Very ephemeral phenomenon, they disappear almost as soon as the sun hits them unless it is very cold.
Oooo cool!
I am not sure I have ever seen such an intricate frost flower in person. Lovely shot.
My lighthouse triangles are here.
That is really cool!
Oh, I love this. When I first saw it on my tiny phone screen, it looked like some beautiful translucent flying insect. I’ve never seen a frost flower before.
Very unusual take on the theme, i’ve never seen anything like that either.
