Today is T-shirt Friday, a lovely tradition begun by Nursemyra. Head on over to her place to see her selection and find out who else is playing.
Today I am featuring one of my favorites. I acquired it when we were in Singapore back in 2001, when we visited the very beautiful Singapore National Orchid Garden. It was quite a lesson to me in international sizing. I was careful to pick one that was labeled extra large, for I was at my maximum 227 pounds at that point. Alas, when I got home it turned out that x-l means quite a different thing in Singapore than it does in the American midwest. That accounts for its near pristine condition despite its age. It is only recently that I have been able to wear this garment.
The garden is well worth the extra money you have to pay to see it.
That is a gorgeous T-shirt and how nice that you are able to wear it now! Sometimes downsizing is a good thing. 😉 Running and ducking!
No need to run. I’ve been very purposely downsizing, and my knees are very happy that I have chosen to do so. Not having to carry around 30 pounds 24 hours a day the way they were used to has made quite a difference in my overall energy level too.
Oh, my, Nero Wolfe’s fantasy destination.
… lovely… and it brings back memories of Singapore
Oooo I hate that X-L means one thing for one manufacturer and QUITE another for another.
I just tell people to buy the largest men’s size they can because invariably, if not before then certainly after, that shirt is going to make me look like I was just squeezed out in a sausage factory. And I HATE collars which are WAY too high. Why they don;t make all Ts with v-neck, I don’t know.
That should have read “because invariably, if not before then certainly after WASHING”
