Friday fashion question: Does Orange clash with Purple?

Judging by these pictures I would say – no! (Using ‘clash’ as a being a bad thing)
As a student of the arts, following the color wheel, you are never supposed to use colors that are too close to eachother on the wheel. [Blah blah rules.]
BUT it never states about tints and shades!
I personally LOVE the combination of a sunny orange with a plum-like purple – it makes one of the best combos in my eyes! [add a nice coppery brown and I’m set!]
But to make them really stand out? Pair them with a combination of their complimentary color! so if you can find a teal-chartreuse your scan’s will be a magical thing!
There is something magnificent about Celosia’s… I especially love the second scan!
the orange really POPS against the deeper plum colours. It certainly works for me
I love the one with the butterfly, they are both in matching colors!
Orange does not clash with purple as you can see in these lovely scans.
