Today the theme for the Photohunters is “Upside down.”
In a way I feel like possibly I am trying to find a way to incorporate cats into every photo hunt. This is a picture of Mike turned upside down. This position was in no way an invitation to rub his belly. It was an expression of love and trust, but if you were so unfortunate as to believe that in exposing his soft belly to you he was telling you it was okay to actually touch it, you would find yourself with a ball of cat sternly and firmly wrapped around your hand with all the claws extended. He would not actually pierce your skin unless you persisted in your demeaning and invasive movements, but you had to be very still and say “Okay, okay, I quit,” and then he would allow you to pull your hand away slowly past the still extended claws. It could be a rather painful experience, but Mike was not one to have his personage trifled with.
I also discovered this picture I managed to get of Jesse in the middle of performing a backwards flip.
Try to find time to visit the other photohunters. There are usually a lot of really fun pictures. I have to say that one of my favorite series can be found here, at Alice Audrey’s blog. If you click on “Jack and Jill” under her archives, there is a whole series of these little funnies.
I Like the second shot. Good shutter speed! Have a nice weekend. CY From the land of smiles.

That’s one comfy kitty!
I played too 🙂
Both pictures are perfect. Good job on capturing the flip. That is hard to do.
some great pictures for the theme. thanks for stopping by today
Cats do like that perspective, don’t they? Great action shot!
Oh nuts!! My cat does that ALL the time and I didn’t think to use it! :S GREAT shots!
Here’s mine… kinda wordy today. I didn’t want to go on a trapeze bar and I have no pics of mountains. :S

Have a great weekend!
I almost took a picture of my dog lying on her back!
Instead I went outdoors: http://cybercoven.org/wordpress/?p=729
we have the same flip shots:)
Those are both great shots for the theme. Happy weekend.
lovely captures both!
get mike over to Pet Pride
Wow, that back-flip shot is amazing!
The cat picture is cute but that second photo is really awesome. It’s so hard to get action shots right but you definitely did so with that one! 🙂
Hi Mike! We think the same way.
That is a very good photo of Jesse!!

Thank you for visiting and commenting on my blog. Your observations of the different answers to this challenge are spot on! Cats, children and reflections!
My cats run away when I bring out the camera. I don’t know how I will be able to continue Sara’s blog! I am lucky that Elisabet is willing to help me with photos right now. As long as it lasts, it’s great. The back-flip is amazing!
Best wishes,
Christina Wigren
What an excellent shot of the flip! That’s a terrific action shot.
Thanks for stopping by my site today.
comfy–comfy–kitty! 🙂
Nice shots. You captured the backflip veryn well. As for Mike that face says “Danger”” but what a handsome fellow!
Nice capture and thanks for the comment…
Love it .
Mine’s up, too.

great shot…you captured it just right…it is indeed a moving picture..thanks for visiting mine
Your kitty has kind of an evil eye. I could see where it might not be wise to get to near the belly. Your flip shot is awesome!
Thanks for visiting!
He’s showing his teeth too. Don’t make the mistake of thinking he is smiling.
I never get tired of cat photos so bring them on! Mine don’t like belly rubs either but often tempt me too with those upside down poses. Love the flip photo too!
Thanks for visiting mine and have a nice weekend.
Both great choices for the theme 🙂 Thanks so much for stopping by 🙂
Fun shots, both ~ furry feline and fit flipping fellow!
Love that back flip shot!
What a fun shot of the flip! And your cat is gorgeous. Nice of her to pose for you with a smile on her face. that is a smile I hope. what a great theme!
Great pictures, fantastic timing with the second one! Thanks for dropping by…
Gotta love cats! 😉 The second photo is amazing!
interesting perspective of the second pic. i love the backward flip, so precise timing.
I always wished I could do that. The backflip, not the cat. I can already lie on my back and look fat like a cat! 😀
it has been so long since i did a backflip… a whole new generation has been born 🙂
Love both pics as they are great. Found it great fun to see that Mike was showing his pearly whites to great advantage in the pic. He certainly knows that when your pic is taken you have to smile. 😉
Mike looks scary in this picture but he still looks cute. Soft and fluffy! 🙂 And what a terrific shot on the backward flip! Happy Weekend! 🙂
The action in the back flip shot is incredible! The cat shot, as all cat shots seem to show, indicate a dearth of action! *smile*
All my five cats hate “belly rubbing” if I only try I would loose my hand lol ! the second picture is too funny !
Love the pictures! The backflip is perfect. And, how odd that a cat wouldn’t want to be rubbed on his belly in that position. Although, I do remember a couple of our cats growing up who thought that a hand on their belly meant play time!
Hi Hands, I believe I have a distant relative of Mike’s, female version in my crazy Hazel. She looks exactly like him and often stretches out like that, but we learned early on, she is ten years old now, that she is not ever inviting you to pet or even touch her. If she wants human contact, she will initiate it, and then, only touch her head. She often sits on the arm of the lazyboy, very near me, and is happy like that. I know not to pet her. Great shot of the back flip too, timing is everything! 🙂
Frances
cute cat and that dude’s muscular! Great shots 🙂
Fun shots for the theme!!
WOW! Love the fur! Thanks for dropping by 🙂
Great up in the air shot!
Being a cat lover (and primarily a cat blogger) have to say the first photo and story are our favorites… and that is exactly how our Zoey behaves.
But moving on down… photo #2 is totally awesome!
im so bad about coming over to visit. i just took a quick perusal of what’s going on here. your garden is stunning, and boy would it be fun to visit. maybe some day, eh?
hope you are well and enjoying fall.
Cool photos! My parents’ cat, Smokey, also lies in that position and does the same thing if you try and tickle her – as poor Mr Bookmouse once found out to his cost! Smokey and Mike look really similar.
Maybe it is something about being a black cat with long fur that makes them so fierce within. “Yes, I know I look all cute and cuddly but really I’m a wild jungle cat. Don’t touch me like that!”
